One look at the sub-compact Jeep Renegade at Bridgman Jeep dealer and you know that it is built for the dirt track. Its unique seven-slot grille, bold styling, amazing set of available colors and reinforced side cladding on the lower body unified with front and rear bumpers make the 2019 Jeep Renegade really stand out. Jeep deserves kudos for its innovative and unique naming of its line up of trims, starting with the Sport, Latitude, Altitude and Limited in the FWD drive train and the Sport, Latitude, Upland, Altitude, Trailhawk and Limited in the 4×4 models. Each trim progresses from sportiness, to enhanced style, to upgraded comfort, premium luxury and power packed performance. These come with a 1.4-Liter I4 MultiAir Turbo Engine on the Sport, Latitude and Upland, and the 2.4L I4 M-Air Engine the Upland and Altitude. There is also an available 2.4-Liter I4 MultiAir Engine for all the trims with the FWD option.
The 2019 Jeep Renegade is also known for its array of comfort and convenience features which we briefly explore below.
Seating
The first aspect we explore for comfort and convenience in the 2019 Jeep Renegade is its remarkable seating appointments. Pick the most basic trims with their cloth seats and you won’t be disappointed with the detailed stitching and workmanship involved. The range of materials vary from cloth to Mesh-cloth, Washington Cloth with diamond and tan accents, topographic cloth with ruby-red accent stitching in the Trailhawk, and Mckinley Leather Trim and Polar Plunge trims with Grillz accents all of which offer superior comfort. There is no power adjustable seating which is more than made up for with the Manual 6-Way Driver Seat and 4-Way Passenger seat. Rear seats are 60/40 folding type.
Convenience
Basic convenience features that you will find in place are the 12-volt Auxiliary Power Outlet, a 115-Volt Auxiliary Power Outlet on the Trailhawk and Limited. Remote USB port is present on all trims except the Sport and Upland. The Sport trim lacks Air-conditioning but you have the available option to install Air-conditioning with Automatic Temperature control and Dual-zone control. This is again standard on all other trims except the Upland trim which has traditional Air-conditioning.
The sculpted dash of the Renegade we checked at Bridgman CDJR dealer is ergonomically designed, with all controls and displays well laid out and well defined. The driver cluster display on the Limited trim is a color 7-inch TFT color while rest of the trims have a monochrome 3.5-inch TFT display that’s quite smart. Audio controls are mounted on the steering wheel across the trims which is a relief. Also standard across all the trims are power windows with one touch up/down and a cargo floor with height adjustments so you can raise and lower it to snugly fit your stuff. Ambient interior lighting is standard in all the trims baring the Sport and Upland.
Infotainment Galore
This is achieved with a 5-inch display with Uconnect-3 on the Sport and Upland, a Uconnect-4 with 7-inch on the Latitude, Altitude and Trailhawk and finally a Uconnect-4C with navigation and an 8-inch display on the Limited. Audio is doled out from a 6-speaker system distributed across the vehicle.
